On 14 June 2021, BANAIR (Holdings) completed its acquisition of EasiBridge® from Bright Structures Ltd. — a defining moment in the system’s journey from Devon workshop prototype to internationally marketed defence product. Moore Barlow LLP, the law firm advising BANAIR on the transaction, confirmed the deal publicly, noting that Dr. Stephen Bright, the inventor of EasiBridge® and other solutions, had joined BANAIR as Technical Director as part of the agreement.
For Dr. Bright, it marked the culmination of six years of self-funded development, military trials, DASA funding, and Royal Engineers procurement — built entirely by a one-man micro-SME. For BANAIR, it brought a patented, combat-proven, internationally recognised portable bridging system into a growing portfolio of military equipment and global defence solutions.
Dr. Bright’s own announcement left no doubt about his enthusiasm for the partnership: “BANAIR bring ground-breaking ideas alongside unparalleled capabilities in execution and a global sales network to deliver EasiBridge innovations internationally. I would like to thank everyone for your contributions getting EasiBridge innovations off the ground.”
With BANAIR’s manufacturing capability, global sales network, and defence industry relationships behind it, EasiBridge entered a new phase — no longer a promising British innovation seeking adoption, but a commercially available system ready for international procurement.
