On 19 July 2021 — just weeks after the BANAIR acquisition — EasiBridge made its first major product announcement under new ownership, unveiling its Infantry Assault Footbridge capability to the public for the first time.
The announcement, made via the EasiBridge Facebook channel, showcased a fully man-portable, modular footbridge built entirely from the same 5-foot (1.5m) ladder sections that underpin the entire EasiBridge system. The message was simple and direct: “Introducing our all new Infantry Assault Footbridge capability. All built from 5′ ladder sections. ‘Bridge-in-a-Bag’ — fully demountable ladders. Coming soon.”
The Infantry Assault Footbridge extends the core Tactical Assault Bridge platform into a full walk-over footbridge configuration, adding decking and handrails to create a stable crossing for dismounted infantry, pack animals, and stretcher parties. At 85% lighter and 90% more compact than the incumbent Infantry Assault Bridge, it packs down to 1.5m × 7kg ladder sections — the entire system transportable in a small number of duffel bags by a dismounted team.
The timing was deliberate. With BANAIR’s manufacturing and commercial capability now behind the product, EasiBridge was in a position to bring new variants to market at a pace that hadn’t been possible as a one-man micro-SME. The Infantry Assault Footbridge announcement signalled that the BANAIR acquisition wasn’t just a change of ownership — it was an acceleration of the entire product development programme.
